does Timberland offer a lifetime warranty? Here’s my side of the story.
After being disappointed by a cheap pair of boots I purchased on eBay, I decide to buy quality Timberland boots instead of constantly wasting money. So far, so good. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
The reason I mention that is that these Timberland boots are among the best, they are not cheap by any means. Since I’ll be parting with at least two weeks’ worth of my freelance earnings for the sake of Timberland boots, I deserve to find out, “Does Timberland offer a lifetime warranty?”
Timberland.com did my question justice. I’ll share the answers with you in this post.
Timberland does not offer a lifetime warranty in the strict sense of the word, but they do stand by the materials and craftsmanship of their products.

But Timberland does have a limited-time warranty valid up to 12 months from the date of purchase that covers defects in materials or artistry. This warranty does not cover products damaged due to:
- Normal wear and tear
- Abuse
- Neglect
- Accident
- Modification
Or other causes where damage is deliberate or due to consumers’ fault.
What Does The Warranty Cover?
Timberland will only honor its warranty if your shoes fall apart because of a problem with the material or workmanship.
The warranty does not apply if you wear out your shoes by walking too much, ruin them by kicking a rock, try to resole the boots yourself and fail, or bruise their uppers while fanatically dancing the Macarena.
If you want to claim this warranty, you need to fill a warranty return form and email it to them along with a picture of the product, a picture of the tags indicating product info, a picture of the defect, and proof of purchase.
They’ll then examine the product and either fix it or refund your payment, depending on the nature of the defect.
This warranty only applies to products purchased from Timberland or one of its authorized retailers—not from third-party sellers.
Do Timberland Boots Sold By Amazon Come With a Warranty?
Just as amazon.com itself isn’t liable for the products sold through its site, Timberland boots sold on Amazon by third-party businesses aren’t always protected under Timberland’s 12-month warranty.
However, if you purchase your Timberland boots from Timberland’s official store on Amazon, they’ll be eligible for a warranty claim.
Do Timberland Boots Sold By Zappos Come With a Warranty?
If you’re not satisfied with the Timberland products you purchased, you can exchange them for a different size or return them for a refund within 365 days as long as you have not damaged the item on purpose.
Zappos has many easy ways for customers to return defective Timberland boots, including self-service and printer-free returns via their appointed courier service. However, free shipping on returns is available to only returnees within the United States.
When you buy Timberland products from non-authorized sellers, you don’t enjoy Timberland’s warranty coverage. So it’s best to check any retailer’s warranty policy before patronizing them.
